“Housebreaking”
Recently we were asked to check out a couple short film projects made by a group of students from the University of Texas-Austin lead by Jordan Kerfeld (Director, Writer and Editor). The one based in this blog is called “Housebreaking”; the story line follows Paul who is unemployed, his father-in-law hates him, and he goes to bed every night in his wife’s childhood bedroom. Desperate to escape his circumstances, he masterminds a home invasion plot to earn his freedom.
I do suggest others watch the short film and also look into their project titled “Tears at Dawn”. They have all of their basics down and we cannot complain on their use of color, angles and editing. The only thing that we thought needed dialed in was their audio; even though it took place inside of a nicely sized home, we did think that the audio seemed a little tinny.
We look forward to seeing their project “Tears at Dawn” as well as other works that they may produce.
